In 2024, Telangana tech startups raised $571 million in funding, representing a 160% increase from the $219.9 million secured in 2023 and a 38% rise compared to the $414 million raised in 2022.

Stage-wise Investment Trends 

Late-Stage Funding: Late-stage investments surged to $297 million in 2024, marking a 701% increase from $37.1 million in 2023. 

Seed-Stage Funding: Seed-stage investments dropped by 16%, falling to $40.6 million in 2024 from $48.2 million in 2023. 

Early-Stage Funding: Early-stage investments surged to $233 million in 2024, marking a 73% increase from $135 million in 2023. 

Sectoral Performance 

Top-performing sectors in 2024 included HealthTech, FinTech, and Enterprise Applications

HealthTech: Funding increased by 2139% in 2024 compared to 2023 and 1160% rise compared to 2022. 

FinTech: Funding increased by 91% in 2024 compared to 2023 and 666% rise compared to 2022. 

Enterprise Applications: Funding decreased by 28% in 2024 compared to 2023 and 67% drop compared to 2022. 

Top cities leading the landscape 

Hyderabad-based tech firms accounted for all funding raised by Telangana tech companies.

Leading Investors 

T-Hub, Indian Angel Network and Mumbai Angels emerged as the top investors in the Telangana tech ecosystem, actively supporting startups across various stages.

Mergers & Acquisitions 

The Telangana tech ecosystem recorded 5 acquisitions in 2024, with a similar number in 2023. Notable deals include: 

● Patasala’s acquisition by Schoolknot, WiseOps’s acquisition by CloudKeeper and Prime Focus Technologies’s acquisition by DNEG are some of the acquisitions that occurred in 2024. 

This data underscores the evolving dynamics of the Telangana tech ecosystem, reflecting both growth opportunities and challenges across different funding stages, sectors, and regions.
